Synergy means working together, and Pennsylvania’s institutions have much to gain when we combine our efforts. Cooperation builds power. With the nation’s Semiquincentennial behind us, museums and historical organizations have opportunities to build on past partnerships and establish new ones.

Pennsylvania’s museums, collections and institutions are involved in a huge range of work that creates partnerships and fosters collaborations – this is a conference to share these stories. We invite proposals for presentations looking at impact: how we work in partnership, including for example, with our community partners, other museum or historic entities, industry or communities; how our work is making a difference; how we generate enthusiasm; and how we care for collections in a rapidly changing world.

We are interested in practical lessons, unique solutions, new collaborations, and to show what has and has not worked. We are particularly looking for presentations that speak to:

• ·         Fundraising
• ·         Collections Care
• ·         Advocacy/Navigating the Political Climate
• ·         Media training/PR
• ·         Museum education/Public Programming

In support of our theme, sessions given by more than one organization will be given priority. All sessions last about 40-45 minutes each, with 15 minutes for questions. Only complete submissions will be reviewed. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

The deadline to submit proposals is November 15, 2026. Decisions regarding the selection of sessions will be e-mailed to the session chair/contact person in January 2027.

PA Museums does not provide honorariums or travel reimbursement for session presenters or moderators. Conference registration fees will be waived for presenters on the day of their presentation.
